Yamaha’s Yard Built programme has gone from strength to strength over the last few years. Yard Built has quickly grown a global audience of enthusiastic custom bike fans as some of the world’s best customizers have collaborated with Yamaha to create stunning creations based on the current Sport Heritage range. Recent collaborations with builders such as the Wrenchmonkees, Matt Black Custom Designs and it roCkS!bikes have shown that you can take a brand new bike from the Sport Heritage range and personalise it your liking without any cutting or welding to the frame, opening up a world of possibilities for bike owners who have considered their own custom but were afraid of the technical knowledge required. To prove this concept and show it’s not just the top custom builders who can do this, Yamaha’s Official European Dealers have taken up the challenge and are entered into the Yamaha ‘Dealer Built’ contest to see who can create the best custom from the Sport Heritage range. The Dealers have been busy over the last few months with some very simple rules; the bike needed to be from the current Sport Heritage range, no cutting or welding to the bike was allowed and a number of genuine aftermarket accessories had to be used. The results have been impressive! It’s clear that with a little imagination and a Sport heritage bike as a base, a unique custom machine is within the grasp of any bike owner that is motivated to add the personal touch. Now, the Dealers need your help! Yamaha Motor Europe is going to award a special prize to the best custom build in each bike category, SR400, XV950, XJR1300 and VMAX. It wouldn’t be fair if Yamaha chose the winners so they need your vote! From today you can find the Dealer Built entries online at www.yamaha-yardbuilt.com Take a moment to check out the entries in all their glory and read up on the modifications made then vote, share and like your favourites. Voting closes on the 20th August the winning bikes will be shown at Glemseck 101 show in Germany from 4th to 6th September.
